Invite and guest access
You will learn who can see a page, how workspace membership differs from guest access, and how share invites work.
Who can see a page
Access flows from your workspace and space:
- Workspace members belong to your organization in Dokko. Their role (owner, admin, member, and so on) sets what they can do across the workspace.
- Space members see pages in that space unless a page is restricted further.
- Guests are people you invite by email to a specific page (or subtree) without making them full workspace members.
Open a page and use Who can see this? or the share control in the page header to review and change access.
Invite a workspace member to edit
When someone should collaborate across many pages in a space:
- Open the page (or go to workspace Settings → Members).
- Invite them as a workspace member with a role that includes write access to the space or project.
- They sign in with StackHouse like other members and see the page in the sidebar.
Members who already have write access to the space do not need a separate page invite for ordinary pages.
Guest access and share invites
Use Guest access when you want an external collaborator or partner to work on one page (or a small subtree) without joining the whole workspace.
- Open the page and open Who can see this? / share.
- Choose Guest access and enter their email.
- Set whether they can view or view and edit, and when access should end if your workspace requires an expiry.
- Dokko sends an invite link by email when mail is configured; you can also copy the invite link from the UI.
The guest accepts the invite, signs in (or creates access through the guest flow), and lands on the granted page. They do not see unrelated spaces unless you grant more access.
Revoke access
From the same share panel you can remove a guest grant or change permissions. Revocation takes effect on the next request; the guest loses access to that page immediately.
What Ask Dokko cannot do
Ask Dokko can explain guest access and sharing, but it cannot send invites from chat. Use the page header share controls for invites.
